The August Classic dog show was established in 2023 and is held in the last Saturday of August at the Dzowulu Astroturf annually. The August Classic Dog Show is organized by Dog Show Ghana LBG connecting hundreds of dogs with their owners and handlers under the supervision of FCI judges at the applauds of adorable crowd of pure breed dog enthusiasts.

Why the name August Classic Dog Show?
The year was 2023 when nine breed clubs under the Kennel Union of Ghana — including the Shih Tzu Club, Dobermann Club, Cane Corso Club, German Shepherd Club, Gun Dog Club, Poodle Club, Caucasian Shepherd Club, Rottweiler Club, and Bullmastiff Club — came together to host a groundbreaking all-breed and specialty dog show.
Named the August Classic Dog Show, the event reflected both the month it was held and the prestige of the show — where dogs could earn their championship titles under multiple rings and distinct FCI judges.
Following the success chalked during the first edition, Dog Show Ghana — a founding member of the August Classic Dog Show — organized the second edition, and the rest, as they say, is history.
